Finding his confidence and companion, he renamed Kiss, "Buddy."

Progress of Self Esteem

"I went to Switzerland in April as if I were a parcel - by American Express. The experience angered and frustrated me and made me all the more determined to undergo any hardship to overcome dependency on others."
-Morris Frank "No sighted person could ever understand the magnitude of my relief. I felt like a bound eagle that had been loosed to soar again. I had maintained a smile on my face since I was a teenager, to keep up a front. This was my first genuine laugh in four years."
-Morris Frank "I should like very much to forward this work in this country."

Aware of the obstacles, but a bold and an enterprising man, Morris Frank returned to America with a mission to establish a program for assisting the blind men in the US, to prove that guide dogs are safe and reliable, and to gain acceptance of dogs in public places. This was the beginning of the Seeing Eye organization, with Eustis as the President and Frank as the Vice-President in Nashville, Tennessee.
